The first domestic 150 KTA ethylene cracking heater which is one of ten key technical research and development projects of Sinopec, No.11 cracking heater of ZRCC ethylene project started to receive naphtha on July 27, formally being put into operation. Its successful startup marks that domestic ethylene technology entered a new stage.

It is known that No.11 cracking heater of ZRCC ethylene project is one of ten key technical research and development projects of Sinopec in 2006. Formerly, the ethylene capacity of domestic cracking heater is generally 100 KTA per furnace, and the ethylene capacity of the other 10 cracking heaters of ZRCC is also 100 KTA each. The No.11 cracking heater not only has high annual capacity, relatively low investment and energy consumption, but also achieves separated cracking and coking thanks to possessing double chambers structure so as to achieve flexible operation.

After introducing feedstock into this 150 KTA ethylene cracking heater, all eleven cracking heaters of ZRCC ethylene project are checked with feedstock. At present, ZRCC ethylene plant is operating in the mode of “8+1” ( eight heaters with the capacity of 100 KTA each and one heater of 150 KTA),and the plant is in good operating state with a total duty reaching 92%.
