MTBE/butylene unit starts up successfully

At 6:00 p.m. on February 26, 130 KT/Y MTBE/butylene-1 unit－ one of major production units of ZRCC’s 1000 KT/Y ethylene project－were fed into stocks, started up successfully and produced qualified products successfully, which indicated Zhenhai 1000 KT/Y ethylene project entered into comprehensive startups with feedstock.

130 KT/Y MTBE/butylene-1 unit adopts proprietary technology developed by Sinopec Technology Development Co.,Ltd. with raffinate C4 from butadiene extraction unit and industrial methanol as feedstock to produce MTBE and butylene-1 products. This is the second unit producing qualified products after PP unit on ZRCC’s 1000 KT/Y ethylene project.
