First main plant of ZRCC ethylene project achieved mechanical completion

On November 26th afternoon, MTBE/Butylene-1 plant, one of ten main plants of ZRCC ethylene project with annual production of 110 KTA MTBE and 40 KTA butylene-1, firstly achieved the mechanical completion, which marked the prelude to the mechanical completions of main ethylene plants.

With the proprietary technology of SINOPEC Technology Development Company (ST), MTBE/Butylene-1 plant produces MTBE and butylene-1 from C4 raffinate and industrial methanol, which are produced by the Butadiene Extraction Plant. For MTBE/Butylene-1 plant, its civil work was started on July 14th, 2008; civil foundation was completed on December 29th, 2008; main part of this plant was construction completed on October 2009, the Work lasted 500 days.

On November 26th morning, the Ethylene Project Management Department arranged the related departments (i.e. production, instrument, electrical departments, etc.) to implement specialty acceptance check, confirming the MTBE/Butylene-1 plant has reached the standard of mechanical completion.
